Imani Palmer

Imani Palmer entered the University of Pittsburgh with a passion for technology. After exploring several majors her freshman year, she decided to pursue the study of the field of Computer Sceince. Imani dedicated a great deal of her time to F.O.C.U.S. (Facilitating Opportunities and Climate for Underrepresented Students), and by her junior year, she assumed a leadership position within the organization. Among other initiatives, Imani quarterbacked the development and implementation of bi-annual study abroad forums for F.O.C.U.S. students. By her senior year she was able to combine both her passion for technology and interest in international experiences through her VIH internship. As the VIH web developer, Imani spearheaded the redesign of the website as well as other media-related items in order to further raise the profile of the program. In her free time, Imani enjoys practicing martial arts, weight lifting, watching action and horror movies and eating homemade Maryland crabs.
