International Experience Summary:

Dana Cerminaro traveled to Italy to experience Italian Language study in Sicily and opera training in Northern Italy. She became immersed in the Italian language and culture of Sicily by learning about the food, language, and culture. During her Italian language study she focused on grammar exercises, conversational language, culture cinema, and music of the country and neighboring cultures that lived in the Sicilian region. While spending time in Sicily, Dana traveled to Rome and small towns surrounding her school in Ortigia, Italy. After five weeks of Italian language study she traveled north to Oderzo, Italy where she studied opera and the culture surrounding this type of musical art. She worked with some of the finest vocal coaches and conductors that Italy has to offer. While receiving daily instruction from the faculty she also had the opportunity to perform in concerts throughout Northern Italy. Before her return from Italy, Dana was invited to return the following year to continue her operatic training with the faculty that she worked with for five weeks this past summer.
