Bio:
Caitlin Whiteford is a junior in Duquesne University's accelerated B.S./M.S. Speech-Language Pathology program. She has grown up in Western Pennsylvania and grew up in a family that did not see value in traveling to new places. She vacationed in the same spot every year and has dreamed since she was a little girl to go and explore European cities, cafes, cathedrals, castles, and ballrooms. She has a deep love for history and is fascinated by old places/artifacts. At Duquesne University, Caitlin is involved in the Honors College Society for Engagement Excellence, and the National Student Speech Language and Hearing Association, and serves on the executive board for Duquesne University Dance Marathon. Some of Caitlin's favorite things to do are reading literature of all genres, sewing and designing fashion items, baking, dancing, going for hikes, and spending intentional time with the people she loves. Caitlin has many interests that she cannot explore through her degree courses such as world literature, archaeology, history, and anthropology. She feels that a summer study abroad program is the perfect way to explore and expand on these fascinations of hers while gaining a global perspective to bring into the Speech-Language Pathology field.
